About Dracula

Sink your teeth into this enthralling reimagining of Bram Stoker’s classic tale of Dracula in this technologically advanced solo stage performance starring Cynthia Erivo playing all 23 roles. Book Dracula tickets on London Theatre.

This one-woman production of Dracula in London stars Cynthia Erivo as Count Dracula, as well as every other character in the story, transforming Stoker’s novel into a feat of live performance like audiences have never seen before. As Dracula drifts in from the shadows and sets his sights on a new victim, this familiar tale becomes something even more delicious. Nightmarish and dream-like, this production showcases Erivo’s range beautifully as she shifts effortlessly between 23 personas at any given time.

Kip Williams adapts and directs this show-stopping production, bringing back the “cine-theatre” language which made his version of The Picture of Dorian Gray such a smashing success. In Dracula, live camerawork, pre-recorded footage, and onstage performance all come together to create a visual world that is equal parts entertaining and talented — a performance in which what happens on stage is broadcast to the screen above it. The result of such a fantastic medium is a gothic thriller that is translated beautifully through theatre and film all at once.

Dracula is a play with an incredible creative team, including scenic and costume designer Marg Horwell, lighting designer Nick Schlieper, composer Clemence Williams, sound designer Jessica Dunn, and video designer Craig Wilkinson.

Dracula is a story that has enthralled audiences for well over a century, beginning, of course, with Bram Stoker’s incredible novel. This innovative and utterly creative show, with Cynthia Erivo at its center, is bound to be a wondrously spooky night out at the theatre. The performance transforms not only our understanding of theatre as a medium but also the incredible range of the performer herself.
